Ellena L.H. Zanders-Ginigeme,
My mother Dorothy, was Roosevelt Zanders only sister. I inherited her family album. When my brother Arthur became terminally ill he gave me his family album which included his archive of our uncle's achievements. It's the combining of these two archives the provided the material for this site.
The Chief's ( my mother,s nick named for her brother) office was just three doors away from the nursery school I attended from age two through eight. Mr Lizziemore's Candy Store was between the office and school. Needless to say I had my first charge account there.
My uncle's home, his office, the garage where he housed his cars and my home were within walking distance to each other..After the death of my father I had to be at that office everyday after school. By 5:30 pm I was at his home. He always seemed to be home for dinner by 6:30. The Chief detested smoking but there he sat at the head of his mahogany dinning room table being serenaded by classical music and wearing one of his silk smoking jackets. He took great pleasure buffing his manicured nails on the lapels of the jackets and taking inconspicuous glances at his fingers and wrist which were tastefully adorned with nothing less than 18 karat gold or platinum cufflinks, ring and watch.

My uncle and his first wife Marie had no children.
